These paintings were done with the Frost's Birch Tree Poem in mind.

In secret I consider Robert Frost the Avant Garde, Yankee and try to follow in his footprints.

This artwork too has romanticism undertones that Frost uses as well, the colors and brush stroke do have a sensual feeling. Here the abstract pieces use some subtle rhythms of the paintbrush movement, similar to the meter of Frost’s ideals of his own work. There is an intention: to mix the paint, to set the viewer/reader to fly, to indulge and to feel -the New Englandness.  Wood pile is one of artist’s favorite pieces because growing up my brother and I had to bring in wood every morning for the wood stove to help heat the house. The era was the late 1970’s; everyone in town did the same. There was plenty of mud, snow and splinters we brought in, it was a New England winter after all.
