A Bridge Between Mountain and Ski

$3,700.00

48×24” Acrylic

By adopting an aerial viewpoint—the perspective of an angel or a bird looking down—I’m able to explore bolder, more unexpected angles in the landscape.

Heavily influenced by Diebenkorn’s Santa Fe and Berkeley series, this specific painting has the raw energy of line work, mixing thick acrylics shapes with delicate pencil markings. Look closely and you’ll see fields built up with unusual like texture which is sand mixed with paint. The  sand is from the Saco River NH which is Abenaki territory. My great grandmother was a Abenaki from the Newfoundland, so these paintings have a special importance for me.

This dedication to layering and expressive mark-making gives the piece a stunning fine art finish, while the distant mountains in the back create an expansive, long-distance view.
