96×36” Triptych Acrylic

This is a modern painting of Mount Washington, a semi-abstract approach that captures the mountain's dynamic colors in fall.  

 The canvas is dominated by energetic strokes of color that suggest the landscape is partly alive. Trees that are Stark, angular of slate gray and deep cadmium orange are layered over one another to form the mountain's rugged landscape.  

These cool, formidable tones contrast with explosive bursts of vibrant orange, magenta, and electric blue, which are used to represent both the ephemeral beauty of a mountain horizon and the unpredictable colors of autumn. Sprinkled throughout the painting or bits of gold leaf to give the glow of the sun hitting the leaves.
