This diptych painting reflections in the water do not ripple but instead break into a series of rigid, kaleidoscopic rectangles, mirroring the forest in a fragmented, cubist-inspired. The brushstroke is deliberate channeling the wild energy of the Fauvist movement by prioritizing color expression over realistic representation. The overall composition transforms a serene landscape into a high-contrast spectacle of light.
There is one solo Queen Anne Lace flowers next to a grouping of Birches. On the far right of the piece are the brilliant yellow flowers of summer. The intimate feel of trees next to a lake is breath taking.
