Buoys Grace a Lobster Huts
Buoys Grace a Lobster Huts
48×24” acrylic
This modern painting is of a famous lobster hut located near Portsmouth’s bridge in New Hampshire. It you look closely you can see the details of the colorful buoys that are so prevalent in New England. The buoys are painted in a loose brush stroke to show them swaying in the ocean breeze. The air is cold and crisp in the ocean sun.
This group of paintings are influenced by the Ocean Park Series by Diebenkorn. His use of soft color blocks to represent a modern ocean parkway was a direction I took from his work.
